Scottish National Gallery, Edinburgh

I was commissioned to make of drawing of the elevation of the Scottish National Galleries, Edinburgh. The 1:50 scale elevation was a commission from an Engineer who had worked on the project designed by Hoskins Architects, with a section element focusing on the new link stair between the lower galleries and upper floors. The drawing features the famous ‘Monarch of the Glen’ painting by Sir Edwin Landseer.

‘The project involved extensively reworking the somewhat cramped and gloomy 1978 Property Services Agency (PSA) designed offices and Scottish Collection gallery, as well as linking to the 2004 John Miller and Partners Weston link, and creating new circulation routes to the Grade A listed gallery above. The designs include forming a new façade onto Princes Street Gardens, and extensive landscaping to the gardens to enhance accessibility down to the now main, gardens entrance’ -Hoskins Architects.
