In 2022 Glasgow City Heritage Trust marked a significant milestone: over 100 friends, supporters, staff, Trustees, and even some past Patrons gathered for a heartwarming celebration on the 15th anniversary of Glasgow City Heritage Trust. Our venue for this momentous occasion was the grand Banqueting Hall of the Glasgow City Chambers, a place steeped in the city’s history. The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of a stunning piece of art – a contemporary illustrated map of Glasgow, masterfully crafted by the talented artist Will Knight. This artwork is a product of our ‘Gallus Glasgow’ project and offers a vivid snapshot of Glasgow in 2022. Looking northwards from the Southside of the Clyde, it juxtaposes Thomas Sulman’s 1864 ‘Bird’s Eye View,’ showcasing how our beloved city has evolved over the last 150 years. Niall Murphy presented an inspiring overview of the Trust’s remarkable journey over the past 15 years. It was a moment to reflect on 15 exceptional projects that exemplify our unwavering commitment to protecting and promoting Glasgow’s heritage.
